The Estonian Drama Theatre (Eesti Draamateater), the largest non-musical theatre in Estonia, has been performing for all tastes for 81 years. Top new works by western dramatists as well as plays by Estonian playwrights are brought to the stage here.
The beautiful Art Nouveau building of the Estonian Drama Theatre, built in 1910, is situated right in the heart of Tallinn. The theatre has two halls, cosy bars and elegant foyers.

The theatre, in the heart of the city, boasts an elegant interior, and is often used for elegant gatherings, music and poetry evenings, presentations and salon evenings. Rene Nõmmik and Tiina Ollesk, the key figures of the Theatre, have produced more than 40 full-length or short works for the company and have created unique and original way of performing through their own movements. The New Old Theatre (Uus Vana Teater) is a professional private theatre founded and directed by Vahur-Paul Põldma. The theatre focuses on two kinds of theatre: dramatic and puppet theatre, the two most different but also most similar types. The theatre tries to revive and uphold values of the small theatre.
In addition to classic works that already exist in translation, the theatre translates and performs classical and contemporary Italian and French works.
The theatres productions are staged at the Masters Courtyard (Meistrite Hoov) rooms on Vene Street 6. The theatre also plays elsewhere, wherever there is enough room to accommodate the stage and an audience.

Theatrum Theatre Studiois established in 1994, the Studio's ambition was to support and continue this century's most important creative and methodological directions in stage management and acting technique.
A theatre hall with 80 seats is used by Theatrum, as well as additional rooms, on the third floor of the Tallinn Dominican Monastery's barn house (Vene tn. 14). Performances are also held in St. Catherine's Church.

The independent non-profit association Von Krahl Theatre was founded in 1992 by Peeter Jalakas and the theatre troupe Ruto Killakund. It was the first black box-type private theatre in Estonia. Up until 1997 Von Krahl Theatre acted as a project theatre. Since autumn 1998, Von Krahl Theatre has had its own permanent five-member ensemble.
Numerous Estonian and foreign troupes, stage directors and choreographers have brought their projects to the Von Krahl. The Von Krahl produces contemporary opera, multimedia performances, street theater and dance productions.
Throughout its history, the Von Krahl has been one of the most well-traveled Estonian theatres, with performances in Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Finland, Sweden, Germany, Britain, Portugal, Netherlands, Slovenia, Denmark, the US and many other countries.
